Sponsored by family bakers, Warburtons, the Watford African Caribbean Association has organised a series of stimulating health education lectures for people of all ages. Ten exceptional guest speakers will deliver learning experiences designed to help individuals and communities improve their health – by raising awareness, increasing knowledge or influencing attitudes.

Lunchtime Lectures take place monthly. Admission is free, no pre-booking is required and the talk is open to anyone on a first-come, first-served basis. The bite-sized lectures will typically last one hour and include a questions and answers session.

The series of ten lectures begins with:

Lecture 1
Juddy Otti, Herts Aid – Sexual Health and HIV ; Time: 12.30pm to 1.30pm ; Date: Tuesday 19th May 2015 ; Location: Watford Elim Church Community Hall, St Albans Road, Watford, Hertfordshire, WD24 5BD

Lecture 2
Fiona McNab, Macmillan Cancer Support and Information ; Time: 12.30pm to 1.30pm ; Date: Tuesday 2nd June 2015 ; Location: Watford Elim Church Community Hall, St Albans Road, Watford, Hertfordshire, WD24 5BD

A freshly prepared two-course meal is available after the lecture at a cost of £5.

Saturday 9th May 2015, 7.15pm to 11.15pm, Leverstock Green Village Hall, Hemel Hempstead, HP3 8QG

The Caribbean Women's Standing Conference presents an evening of mouth-watering entertainment - Jamaican Cuisine, Steel Band, Dutch Auction and much more. Proceeds from this Social Fundraising event will go towards severely disabled children in Jamaica, the CWSC / Mary Seacole Brunel University Prizes for Undergraduates and Graduates and support for the Watford African Caribbean Association project for the elderly. Tickets are £30 per person.
