Hi Macmillan Bear here, I would like to tell you about my two-day gig that I have been helping the good people of Leavesden Community Group to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. I did invite Paddington but he was too busy eating marmalade sandwiches and starring in his stage show.
So, I first started my tour on 24th October with a visit to our good friend at Falcon Autotech and with their generous contribution we were on our way. The next day I set up in Haines Way, and I would like to thank Alex and the young ladies of 144 Haines Way for the use of their drive. It was an early morning but I did get a little help from 1 or 2 of the LCG members. I made lot of friends with the children as they were going to school and we collected a sum of money from their parents and local people over the time 7.30-9am. I moved our set up to 71A Haines Way the hub of Leavesden Community Group and you can see from the photos there was a lot of cake to be had. A special Thank You must be sent to Lyn Tomkins and Velma Ryan for all their delicious cakes but my famous cousin did not turn up for the marmalade cake.
After 3 hours at the hub, I moved our show onto North Watford Bowls Club and from 7pm to 11pm my good friends at the club, and with the generous contribution a grand total of £528.47 was collected. A big Thank You to all the people that contributed because we all have a family or friend that has been affected by this cruel disease.
